Bio
Principal consultant Peter Dykstra has over 25 years experience designing systems and practices to help organizations communicate more effectively.
As senior vice president and director of product information at DDS he managed strategy and implementation of online product information for systems used throughout the advertising and broadcast industries in North America and Europe. He's also worked as a journalist, teacher, tech writer, editor and information architect.
Since 2004 his focus has been on developing open source solutions for Content Management and Web Publishing. He founded MetaphorX in 2007.
Peter has managed and mentored tech writing teams using structured writing methodologies; introduced user-centered design and usability testing methods for software development; developed corporate Web sites, software documentation standards, automated publishing systems, and topic-based contextual Windows and Web Help systems. He's worked in fields including advertising, life sciences, education, law, and non-profits. He is a member of the Society for Technical Communication, the Association for Computing Machinery, and Content Management Professionals.
